While focusing on the personnel and labor field, Mr. Hirai deals with cases in a variety of fields, including the IT laws and general corporate. He also provides extensive advice and representation services not only to domestic companies but also to foreign-affiliated companies.
His main practice and experience in the personnel and labor field are as follows.
Mr. Hirai advises clients on various disputes related to personnel and labor, mainly disputes concerning termination of employment relationship such as dismissal, termination of employment contract, and encouragement of retirement, and represents his clients in litigation, labor tribunal, mediation, collective bargaining, etc.

Dispute concerning personnel affairs (personnel transfer, disciplinary action, certification of management supervision, etc.)

Dispute concerning occupational accidents
Dispute concerning harassments
Dispute/response to competent authorities concerning information leakage by an employee (including cases of violation of Unfair Competition Prevention Act).
Mr. Hirai provides wide variety of services from response to M&A transactions to consultation on daily personnel and labor matters. His involvement in M&A transactions is not partial such as due diligence; he has extensive experience, particularly in the corporate-split cases.
Dealing with M&A transactions (negotiation of contracts, succession of licenses including a license of worker dispatching service, PMI, Due Diligence, etc.)
Consultation on wages, etc. of employees and response thereto (Equal pay for equal work, Signing bonus, etc.)
Response to amendments to laws (laws related to Working Style Reform, etc.)
Preparation/revision of employment contract
Development/revision of various types of regulations such as employment regulations)
Delivering lectures at various seminars (harassment, false contract, etc.)
Consultation on handling of personal information of employees and response thereto (employees monitoring, cross-border transfer of personal data, etc.)
I have engaged myself in practice mainly on labor laws and information laws at the former foreign-affiliated law firm. Based on this expertise and experiences, I will make best effort to offer optimal legal services to each client by understanding their problems correctly.
