Ueda Atsushi represented a bank in a case at the Tokyo District Court and its commentary article on the judicial decision made on August 8, 2013 (the decision rejected an assertion of the invalidity of declaration of intention on the ground of miscomprehension made by Japan Federation of Credit Guarantee Corporations, who provided the bank with credit guarantee, for the case that the main debtor didn’t have a business entity) appeared in the Financial and Business Law Precedents Vol. 1425; Kinyu Homu Jijo, Vol. 1982; and Hanrei Times, Vol. 1393.

Maruyama Shinji has been seconded to a branch of Rajah & Tann LLP in Bangkok (head office in Singapore) and started his one-year-scheduled training as of May 1st.

Ebihara Motohiko, an attorney of our office, passed away on 23 January, 2013. We would like to express our cordial gratitude to all of you while he was alive. We welcome a new attorney, Beppu Fumiya.

We regret to announce that Ebihara Motohiko, a partner of our office, passed away on 23 January at the age of 87. His wake and funeral have already taken place in a private setting with his family and associated members of our office. A “farewell party” hosted by our office will be held at a later date.
